Who am I?

I'm River (she/her).

What do I do?

I offer cleaning and tidying services.

Where do I do it?

I am based in Wellington, New Zealand, and get around on my bike.

What do I do it with?

I clean with the products you have in your home, although am happy to arrange prices for providing my own, or to pick products on behalf on my way to your home.

Here's the list to check against:

Equipment:

• Vacuum cleaner
• Mop and bucket

• Microfibre cloths
• Chux-style cloths

Chemicals:

• Glass cleaner
• Toilet bowl cleaner
• Cream cleanser
• Handy Andy-type cleaning product
• Spray and wipe (this is a one-off, as once empty I will refill with dilute Handy Andy)
• White vinegar

Bonus chemicals:

• Oven cleaner
• Barkeeper's Friend
• Bleach

If you're just looking to get the bare minimum in terms of cloths and chemicals, these are the "core" items:

• Microfibre or Chux-style cloths
• The advantage of the latter is that they come in large quantities so I can swap them out more frequently.
• Glass cleaner
• Handy Andy and either a spray and wipe or empty spray and wipe bottle
• This can replace pretty much everything except glass cleaner. I prefer to use existing spray and wipe bottles rather than purchasing empty spray bottles because I find those tend to get clogged easily.

When do I do it?

I usually set cleans to start at midday, but full disclosure: my punctuality is an ongoing project.

How often do I do it?

I currently have availablity for casual and fortnightly cleans. I will update this page should more availability open up.

How much do I charge?

I charge $70 for a two-hour clean, and $100 for a three-hour clean; plus transport time.

Transport charges are based on the Google Maps estimate, rounded down to the nearest $5.

If my rates change, existing customers keep their current rate until the beginning of April or October.

I can provide invoices if requested.

How do I do it?

I have a default routine I do if you have no other preference. My approach is generally to get the common areas of the house to an "80%" standard, then go back over to do more detail work with any extra time. Over multiple cleans as I get used to your house I find myself with more and more of this time, so more gets done.

Of course, my priorities are up to you. If you've got something in particular you'd like me to focus on, whether regularly or as a one-off, just let me know.

Am I covid-safe?

I am up-to-date on my vaccines, and take measures in my own life to avoid catching and transmitting any illness. I trust you to let me know if there is contagious illness in your home.

Why should you hire me?

I am an efficient worker who makes good use of the time I am on the job, and I hold myself to a high standard.

By hiring me, you are supporting a small business. While I am experienced in this line of work, I run a lean business and so my rates are very competitive.

I know it can be weird to invite someone into your home. Regardless of disability, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or any other aspect of your self; I'm just here to clean.
